Death threat from a father in prison.

    Hello,
Im 25 and I live in Florida and I recently recieved a letter from my father who is in prison for aggravated assult on my mother, as well as molesting my sister. He has been in prison since 2005 and is sceduled to be released on paper in August. in the most recent letter he claims:

"when I get out, there will be a war and all of you will burn in hell and then I'll kill myself. The suicide will be the easiest part because I have nothing left to live for, and the only thing left after the dust settles will be the 2 families crying over there lost loved ones" he even goes on to say that he has written the letter 3 times just to make sure he is understood and that "this is a threat, a promise of the things to come."

In the past he has sent letters filled with psycobabble claiming we will all burn in hell, however, those were always worded with things like "there will be hell to pay," which can mean anything. They were always implied and not explicit.

The man spent almost 5 years in prison beginning in 1996 for molesting my oldest sister. then turned around to do it to another and still got less than 5 years. Now he is threatening to murder his whole family. Isn't the law supposed to protect us from these people? What can I do to keep him from getting out? Please help me save my family.

    James

You need to take this letter to the police department, they will help lead you in the correct direction of having this addressed so that your family is protected. Doesn't matter if your father is locked up outside your town/city/county, your local police should be able to at least get the ball rolling towards keeping you all safe.

The police can't protect you from something they don't know about, so make this known and present the letter you received (including the envelop it came in if you still have it).

I would send a copy to the prison warden and the Florida parole board too.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
