How old were you? How good a friend were you with these guys and do you still hang around them?
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

This is a joke post, right? Right?

Hmmmm.....burglary, conspiracy? Nahhhhhhh.
FELONY! Don't bother applying in CA. Even without a conviction, it shows your lack of personal integrity, common sense and a willingness to be complicit in committing a criminal activity.

I have two questions.
1.) How old are you? This is a big deal regardless, but it is a much bigger deal at 25 than it is at 15.
2.) (and this one makes a lot of difference to me personally) While you were rooting your friend on to break into a closed business and steal money and taking your cut of the profits... Did you know that you wanted to be a cop?
If you were over 18 when it happened, and if the answer to #2 is "yes" then I think you have a slim chance to make it and I know for a fact that I would not want to work with you. If circumstances are different than that, then your chance (IMHO) can go up a bit.
Please let me know...

Ahhh, but you did do it. You were a party to the crime, a co-conspirator.I stayed in the car, he gave us both $20 of it...but I regret doing this..and I didnt even do it, I just sat in the car.
But, I agree with Citicop, age is very important in this.
We all make mistakes as kids, that's why juvenile laws intent is to remove the taint of criminality from your act.
It's a chance for society to change the undesired behavior of children, without labeling them as criminals, and more importantly, where they don't believe themselves to be criminals, destined to a life of crime.

17 would make you a legal adult in my state at the time of the crime.
It's not a permanant dealbreaker in my opinion, but it is going to make the road that much tougher...
Spend some time being an adult. A college degree, military experience, or even five years of responsible employment may help your chances quite a bit.

I want to get an associates degree in criminal justice, then when I'm 20 [18 now] go and be a cop.
I havent done anything stupid since i stopped being friends with him and all his friends, if it wasn't for them I'd have never done anything wrong.
I thought about military...but i don't think its for me...
Yup, not a total deal breaker as of right now, but you've got to establish some responsibility and good decisions in your young adult life. Getting an associates in criminal justice would help fill some bad spaces. Also, if and when you go before a review board; try not to pass the buck of responsibility on your friends decisions. Own up to your mistake. You knew it was wrong at the time. Part of growing up is taking responsibility for our own actions.
YMMV, but in my area, you just aren't getting hired at 20, even if you didn't have the bump in your past.
Get a 4 year degree, 4-5 years of responsible work history, and then apply.
I would say that 23-24 would be more realistic for you.
Time is your friend.

Also there's two other things...I got to thinking n I remembered them
One I gave him a shot of steriods...I was his best friend n we went on beach trip with church...on way there..we drove just us...I did it then
Two we broke in to his house next door..was like 5 ppl...and his uncle told him how to make electricity work illegally..no1 lived there but he wanted to have a party in it...yes was dumb
But that's all the real bad things we did...god I hate myself for doing all the crap with him..was stupid
Thoughts?
