22 at time of hire, worked 2 departments part-time, quit those and moved to NC where I worked in the jail at the county sheriff's office, moved and now again working for two other depts part-time.
I do not plan on staying as they are small and I'd like to go to a bigger dept.

22 at first agency (city) retired at 42, went directly to state for three years, then to current (county) at 45.
If the economy didn't suck so bad, I'd probably be fully retired right now, but I want to make sure the kids and grandkids are taken well care of so I keep on truck'n and doing what Trip is by sinking as much as possible into my 457k while units are lower in price.
