How do I answer to this portion of my FHP application packet?

I received a letter scheduling me for the FBAT & PAT in a month. A question in the packet asks if I have ever used any illegal drugs (including marijuana, anabolic steroids, and designer type drugs). I have never used any illegal drugs but I have used LEGAL pro-hormones and I知 considering using some more prior to the PAT to be in top shape. I DON'T consider the LEGAL pro-hormones I致e taken in the past to be in the same category as Marijuana, Cocaine, Ecstasy, or anabolic steroids. I知 just scared that if/when I get to stage of the BI/Poly they person conducting the poly thinks I知 lying/hiding something if I get nervous. And would it be a bad idea to use some prior to the PAT(even if they are legal)?

    Thanks

If they are asking for illegal drugs, and the stuff you've taken are legal. Then reply no. If they're illegal, then say yes.

They go over the poly questions with you before the test to try to eliminate any ambiguity. When they do that, explain the legal drugs (because one of the questions is most certainly, have you done anything illegal that you haven't disclosed)

I detect a distinct reservation in your statement about whether or not YOU believe the Prohormones to be legal. This is a controversial issue to which I will not become involved. Suffice it to say, if you use any substance to enhance your appearance, strength, etc., it is probably not recognized as safe and legal. Prohormones become anabiolic steroids when processed through the liver and, if given a test for such drugs, you would likely show a positive.

Simply state that you have or are using Prohormones as a regimine of your healthy body consciousness. That you are not using prohibited steroids.

    What are Pro-Hormones?

    Good luck!

Why would you be nervous about something that is legal?

im be nervous because many do consider the particular PH that i have used (M-Drol) to be the same as anabolic steroids even though the DEA has not classified it as a Schedule 3 drug (along with all the other steroids/hormones with potential for abuse). I fear that he will just consider it to to be the same as using ILLEGAL anabolic steroids.

Should i take the risk just let the BI know?

Would you rather they hear it from you, or someone else? Or would you rather this come up when you fail the lie detector test?

You need to pull your head out about a couple of issues...

First, what you consider to be or not be in what category is irrelevant. As a police officer, you don't get to decide that or make those kind of judgement calls. The legislature tells us what's legal and what isn't.

Second, I recommend not taking stuff like you describe. If you're in reasonably decent shape, you don't need it. You're not joining a pro football team, or being hired as a body builder. Yeah, they might give you a big chest or big arms now, but what kind of shape will you be in 10 years... or 20 years? Can you guarantee those supplements won't cause chronic health problems somewhere down the road? A healthy diet combined with good exercise and regular sleep patterns is what is really needed.

Surviving and succeeding as a police officer is much more about short and long term endurance, than it is about bulk and brute strength.
