    crimes

If a person resides in Califonia, but is traveling in Miami, Fla., gets pulled over for speeding , his name pops up as a flag....the Miami police officer places him under arrest. He has never had a criminal record outside of California. What crimes could he be charged with?

A flag? What kind of flag? Are you talking about a warrant? What was he arrested for?

Exactly, he gets charged with whatever crime he has a warrant for. If you're not talking about someone having a warrant, I'm also clueless as to what you're talking about.

A violation in Miami territory would be considered "off sides". If a flag is thrown on the play, the offending player would incur a 10 yard penalty and loss of down.

I believe that's 5 yards and replay down, sir.

Are you saying that if a Californian was stopped and cited for speeding in Miami and there's an outstanding warrant out for his/her arrest in California would the Miami officer become aware of this?
Yes, in a sense the Miami officer would be flagged/informed by checking through NCIC and learning that a felony warrant had been sworn out for this speeder's arrest in California. The only crime the subject would be charged with in Miami would be speeding.

In flag football, the California player would have been considered to be tackled at the spot the flag was thrown and the play was over.

We would ( and I assume Florida would do the same) charge him with being a fugivitve from justice which IS a crime. Once he is extradited back to CA , we would drop the charge. Yes , it is a crime to be a fugitive from justice which is the only way we can hold someone who is wanted in another state.

Yeah, but he says nothing about being a fugitive. "Flags" around here are just warnings that someone might be dangerous.

I decided to make some time available between the second and third re-run of Glenn Beck and O'reilly. ;)

In Australian rules, the flags are only waved by the goal umpires. 2 flags is a goal (worth six points) and 1 flag for a single point. They are waved by both goal umpires so they both keep score equally from the length of the field.

Luckily, no tackle count in Aussie rules.

Just how did this thread head to flag sports lol

Now, dont get me started on semaphore......
