I was thinking about getting an internship at a police dept. and I don't have my license yet
because I'm waiting on my contacts to get done.

Would it not be easier to contact the specific police department where you want to intern and ask them?
I would imagine that every department has different rules...

Wait until you get your contacts and then take and pass a vision test, as everyone who drives a vehicle is required to have a drivers license or a learner's permit. With a learner's permit in Georgia you would have to have an adult licensed driver with you while learning to drive.
We don't allow non paid employees to drive any cars..... Insurance forbids it.
