Okay I did some more research, and found out whether or not the police can arrest someone just to hopefully get a taped confession. I actually had to track down and interview criminals who have been in that situation and knew the laws on it, just to find out. But don't worry I won't post the answer for everyone to see. Any other writers on here, who wanna know this for their stories, I'll let you know.

Oh, you contacted some lawyers? And they gave you the answer to your questions without a bill? Great!

There are two things I'm good in, the second is arresting people

I'm looking for Drug/Narcotic Unit patches together with DUI/DWI unit patches for a frame in our Anti-Drug-Team bureau

Also looking for Massachusetts Police and US Capitol City PD patches now!

So you actually tracked down criminals... and interviewed them... within the last two days... Uh huh.

And you did this because they have been in that situation and know the law... Riiiiigght.

And you're not going to post what they said, because we might not want you to... Okaaay.

I guess... go with that, then.

Re: Is this realistic police procedure for my screenplay?

How many days should it take?

I think that he's implying credibility is a major issue. Just because a criminal has been through the system doesn't mean they know the law.

If they did, they wouldn't be criminals in the first place!!
There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

    Or they wouldn't get caught.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
