You are stuck with it. No one would be able to question that it was, in fact, the same car you were driving.
Along those lines, I hit a deer once and the officer inadvertently put the wrong year of manufacture down for my truck on the report. I never noticed, sent out my proof of insurance, etc. The state suspended my license for driving an uninsured vehicle. I had to go and show them that the vehicle that I was driving was the one on my insurance policy (compared VINs, etc) and got it taken care of. The bottom line is, people make mistakes and it is the way it goes...but one can hardly contest the validity of the ticket with a simple, easy to make mistake.

in practice, there is."

"The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like
an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig
was'committed'."
