Simply a curiousity question.
When a person is convicted of a felony what exactly happens to the firearms they own? Are they confiscated? Are they permitted an amount of time to sell them? Can they give them to a family member?
Thanks all.

We only confiscate guns used in crimes. We don't go to the home and take them away. The only time we get actively involved is when they are caught with one.
We're reactionary, not proactive. If they are getting out of the joint, their parole officer might be more involved, do searches for firearms, etc. Even they don't care how they get rid of them, just don't have any in their possession.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
