Would you say that a majority of officers wear Oakley shades while on duty?

Because from my small observation this seems to be true, which Im not surprised by for the simple fact they are a nice reliable quality and they look nice with a simple design. Do you personally wear oakleys and if not, which brand do you go with

I would not say that at all. It is in the 15-20% range in my area.

I won't pay more than $20 for sunglasses, because they don't last long enough to make expensive ones worthwhile.

I do, mainly because I got them for half price from usstandardissue.com. Surprisingly, I have not broken them yet.

Thats the problems with living in God's country. We are so out of style.
12 cops in whole county, (13 if you count the rabbit ranger) and none
of us wear Oakleys.

I used to always wear the $20 or under pairs until I got some Oakleys. They are much stronger and I don't feel like I'm going to break them simply by putting them on.

I love my Oakley's and the discount received through usstandardissue. You can't beat $105 for polarized square wires. And no I won't buy them for you. :D I started wearing them long before I got into LE though.

BIG has been wearing Oakley exclusively, since 1988. Way before it was fashionable to do so, thus once again proving.....BIG SEXY is a trend setter.

I have never bought a pair of sunglasses or a watch for over $15. I've worked midnights for almost 4 years now so the shades are a moot point now.

Most cops are really CHEAP. You can't get them to cough up money for decent gear, you can't get them to cough up money for a decent case for their rifle, and you can't get them to even pay for some decent pens.....

That being said, most of the guys I see wear cheapo glasses. I've bought Oakleys a couple of times (mainly due to our discount) but I've managed to drop, break, and lose every pair I've bought. For the last year I've been wearying a pair of Spy's that I like....I also have a pair of Wiley X glasses with interchangable lenses....of course I dropped them and now can't find the lenses anywhere convenient to replace them.
Truthfully, I'm more in need of buying a new pair of $100 uniform pants than I am of buying new glasses.... these damned uniforms are expensive.

(I do buy Oakley boots though.... I tried every other brand that the two local uniform shops sell and ended up going back to Oakley).

oakley baby for me. I even have Oakley Ski Goggle, Oakley Backpack, and an Oakley t-shirt.

I should get an advertising fee from the company.

I wear oakley's for two reasons:

1. They don't move around much while I run.

2. You have to have a decent pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the bright sun glaring off the white hood of your car.
