    Lost & Found

I basically run a Lost and Found with my Airsoft League and I want to know what the law states in the state of Florida on the limit of time I can hold an item that has been lost by a person before I can claim ownership of it. I assumed there was a 2 months time limit for the rightful owner to claim their property before I can do what I want with it (which is the current rule) but I was wondering what the real law was since I want my Lost and Found time limit rule to go by the law.

I want to be fair so I don't want to do "Finders-Keepers" even if the law states that.

I'm not certain Florida HAS a law on this. Google turned up some information about how Florida airports handle their lost and found and each one does it differently, including timeframe to hold items and their disposition.

Were I you, I'd pay a florida lawyer for an hour of their time to give you the straight scoop, and then develop lost and found procedures for your league and put them in writing (perhaps in your indemnity), so you can say it has been distributed.

I'll have to get in touch with my ex-girlfriend that I mentioned in my other question about "Under Age Sex - Ridley Version". She has a multitude of lawyers and a Federal Supreme Court Justice in her family so I wouldn't have to pay a lawyer for their time. Thanks for the answers.

You go ahead and do that, then.

Maybe you can get that US Supreme Court Justice to draft it for you. It will be the most ironclad set of lost and found rules in history.
