Is the LASD academy a live-in academy? I have tried to research it but have not been able to find out. Thank you for your time.

The only live-in academy I am aware of in CA is the Highway Patrol Academy. All others are day-to-day commuter academies.
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence!
