A few years ago I was in a LEO equipment business that sold handguns. The guy who ran it was a retired LEO.
This was being discussed by several LEOs who had stopped in to shoot the breeze.
The guy in charge made the point, when the young guys get out of the academy, they go for the 9mm and
40s.
After the first time they have been deep ****, they upgrade to the fullhoue 10mm and 45.
I carry a 45 on duty. But I carry a 9mm off duty. So take your choice. It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. Unfortunatly HK91s, dont fit in duty holstersOn a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL

I am issues a .40, but I prefer my old issue weapon which was a .45 (HK USP .45). My off-duty weapon at that time was a .40, but only because they didn't make the weapon I wanted in a .45.
Should the opportunity arise to carry a .45 I will definitely try to make it happen again
