Can I still join the R.C.M.P.?

OK this is kind of hard to bring up because it's embarassing but I want to join the RCMP so bad and I want to know if my past will stop me from being able to. Through grades about 4-6 there were several instances where I flat out butt f'd my friends where they were sleeping over or even in a lineup or something...Then I didn't do it until like 8 months ago when i was 17 sleeping over at a friends house where i actually pulled off my pants and boxers and did it with his clothes still on. I know it was disgusting and I feel like an idiot and i want to know if that would be an automatic DQ from the RCMP, and if its not, will it dramatically lower my chances? Thanks for your help this has been bugging me for a while.

I... don't know what to say about this.

In Missouri, you would be considered an adult at 17. And you have committed a Sexual Assault, and it would definately keep you out of Law Enforcement.

I don't know about Canada. I'm sure someone will be along soon from up North who can help with better information.

Because i want to join so bad and theres no way id ever do something like that again, and i want to be able to show the rcmp that i will have built good character, so do u think i have any chance?

No. College or volunteering do not erase the past.

I'm sorry... I tried to stay out of this, but I can't help myself. I'm proud of what I do, and don't want my profession sullied by yet another bozo.

I know we're supposed to take these questions at face value and try to not make judgements, but... I'm not buying a single word of this. I think this is someone trying to bait us into saying that the police would be willing to hire admitted sex offenders.

On the outside chance that I'm wrong, and what this poster says is true, then he's got with a real problem with controlling his impulses and has no business wearing a badge. He's got a problem that will eventually land him in prison.

I thought I'd heard (or read as the case may be) all the silly questions. But this one? It can't be real.
