It's not a matter of being illegal, it's a matter of bilking you out of money. The transfer they do wouldn't be legit, you would transfer the money that wasn't there and your bank would stick you for it.

Slow fish..... a comment I wouldn't expect .... I never said I was a genious by any means , but to be called slow fish... I thought i was doing the right thing by asking an officer who is sworn to protect and defend .... I have always had the utmost respect for our officers...I do not apologise for asking about things I do not know about... but thank you for the enlighment.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. This scam works because greedy people think they're getting something for nothing. All they have to do is agree to transfer money around for someone.

If you stop and think about it, why would someone want to pay you for something like that? If you sit down and go over what you've said so far....
They are advertising for a receptionist job that involves the transfer of money from someone to you and you take a cut and then transfer the money to someone else. Does that really make any sense to you? Unfortunately, we run into people all the time who lay aside their common sense because they see what they believe is an opportunity to get easy money. That's why we get a bit cynical.

Thank your husband for his service for us, please.

Use a legitimate employment agency. Even ads in the regular newspapers are often less than reliable.

If you have secretarial skills, you might look at local government agencies. I know my old dept is always hiring clerical personnel.

Good luck in your search for employment.

I will tell my husband, and thank you for the acknowlegment and for the advice. But I know what he would say ..Ill be brief. Our police force are the true men (soldiers) who need praise and recognition for all they do... the battles they fight on our home soil, never knowing who the enemy is by color or creed or by the clothes they wear, the war is never over for them, for the people they defend (us) as a nation, for all the bulls### they have to endure and for all the causulties and lives they have personally lost or sustained. For all the critics out there who will put our "true soldiers" down ...but whine and cry and call them for help...and there always there for them for all of us...NO... thank you and god bless all you and your families!! For you are the true soldiers of the Untied States of America......Take care sir ...thank you for your help .......Becky
