I live in north Jersey and one of our officers was shot saturday evening. I am hopeful he will make it, but is still critical. This kind of thing never happened here before and the town is quite upset about it, and for the officer and we are all praying for him, his family, and the police dept.
I am so thankful that brave men and women risk their lives to keep us safe and I truly hope they catch these guys who did this.
Since I attend the monthly crime meetings in town, I have gotten to know some of the officers here and they are a wonderful group of dedicated caring men.
As a community, is there anything we can do to show support to our local police dept? I would love to send a card to the officer when he is on the mend. Do you think that would be ok, and should I send it to the police dept?
I know I should be asking them, but I think they are pretty busy right now to deal with questions like this.
Since you all are officers, I thought maybe you can give me some ideas.
Do you think its best to just do nothing? I feel I need to do something to help, or at least show support and concern.
I would post a link but I dont have enough posts yet to do so.
Thank you for your time.
