    Traffic Stop

A few weeks back I was stopped for registration issues. The issue being the tags expired on Jan 1st and it was Dec 31st. Now being polite as I am I shut my engine off turned on my dome light and waited for the officer to ask for my ID befor getting it out. On the way back to his car he must have noticed the locked gun case in the back of my SUV and after returning questioned me about it. He then asked to search the car which I agreed to even handing him the keys for both the ammo box and the gun case. After he was done and statedIi was "Free To Go" he returned to his car and sat and waiting as I returned all the items to the correct places and put everything back in my glove box. Re locked my case and ammo can and putall my CD's back in the case. So my question would be, Why after finding nothing di the officer just walk away and leave my car torn apart? Is this standard practice? and If so why so rude to a law abidding citizen?

Sorry, your statement sounds all wrong on the sequence of events. Not going to address why.

That part of your post indicates you are not interested in an honest evaluation of the traffic stop; that you are not being completely forthright as to the reasons for the traffic stop; and that you are simply looking to have one of us bash another cop.

While I can understand the disbelief about the matter in hand id be more than happy to send you a copy of the warning for the registration. So instead of covering a fellow officers mistake by questioning my statement. Just answer the question and move on please.

To answer my own question I called to station in question and asked them to which they replied as I thought they would "The matter will be looked in to!"

That will be the last time I let any officer search my car. Rude and disrespectful. Also the last time I try to get a anwser regarding issue's such as this from Online sources.

You don't get to come in here and dictate whom, or how your question gets answered. If you don't like that, get t' steppin'.

To answer my own question I called to station in question and asked them to which they replied as I thought they would "The matter will be looked in to!"
Crikey! You mean they didn't tell you they would hang him from a yardarm??? What's this world COMING to?!?!?!

I have yet to see how the officer was rude and direspectful as you claim. And in all matters where you want answers, it's preferential to go to the source. Not a bunch of random professionals who were never anywhere NEAR your incident.

    Sayonara!
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

Let no man's ghost say my training failed him.

In 10 years of wearing a uniform, I have NEVER put a car back together after searching it. The more junk and crap you have in your vehicle; the more things I have to go through and the large mess it can and usually will make. No part of that is intended to be rude and/or disrespectful.

FYI, Fallen Saint. Both of your post in this thread reek of arrogance and disrespect towards the officer. Also it sounds to me, like you are not telling all the details. Not that I expect you to, because there are always 3 sides to any story. What party "A" (you) saw and felt; party "B" (the officer) and party "C" (what really happened as if seen from a neutral bystander).

Next, when you call the station to question the officer's actions; you are not always going to get an answer you want. Which it sounds to me like you expected the person who answered the phone to instantly jump to your side and say the officer would face some kind of repercussion or disciplinary action. Like I said, 3 sides to every story. Also, when they say the situation will be looked into, well...they WILL look into it. It’s just as simple as that. Remember, we have to get both sides to a complaint and then find where in the middle things actually happened.

While I will always hold respect for Officers that do the job the right way and respect the individual and they're belongings. You are right I did not and never will respect that officer. His action were uncalled for. Pulling someone over because they're tags become out of date the next day is a BS stop to kill time. No law was broken. I asked a direct question only to be called a liar. I would like to sit here and belittle you as you have done to me, But I cant. I still respect the job you three hold and I hope that you have all made a great difference in your comunitys. But I am very disapointed in the level of disrespect you hold for those whom you have sworn to protect. I have asked my account be removed as this site is not needed by me.

Is it just me, or did this come across as a bit disingenuous?
