Is there anything that can be done if someone admits to committing a serious crime on an online forum?

In short we'll need more info to determine the possibilities/viabilities of prosecution.
Some crimes are treated differently in different places, FI, Peeping Tom is considered to be a Felony in my State, while it is less serious in others, such as NY City, where every high rise apartment is illustrated as having a telescope.
My Inalienable Rights were given to me by God and NOT by the Government.

I started this thread because I came across this: cantpostlinksuntilyouhavemoreposts.com where at the bottom of the page the person with username "VirtuallyEmotionless" seems to have admitted to committing a murder while under the influence of PCP.

Confessions are good and help to strengthen a case, but admitting to committing a crime would still have to be corroberated with other evidence in order to prosecute and get a conviction...Incidently, what serious crime have you or someone else committed on an online forum?
Here is the post, that I read from that individual.
SWIM - Acronym meaning: Someone Who Isn't MeSWIM would NOT advise fighting on something like DXM or PCP. They make one extremely strong and SWIM would imagine it would be very easy to kill someone from the strength alone, let alone the fact of how someones mindset is likely to be while tripping. SWIM went to school with some dude a while back and he wound up murdering some lady right in front of her kid over an argument his mom had with her over drug money. He was on PCP at the time, and what's really sad is, the kid was only like 13 at the time. SWIM doesn't think it's a risk worth taking AT ALL. SWIM remembers the one time he rode 50mph on an exercise bike while on DXM. SWIM now thinks back to his heart rate when he hit 50 and thinks it was a pretty stupid thing to do. SWIM has on many occasions pictured his self riding down a major highway keeping up with traffic on a bicycle. But seriously, SWIM thinks the one best way to fight, is to not fight at all. It's really not worth going to jail over. If SWIWHOEVER was to choose to fight anyway, please leave the drugs out of the mix, especially DXM and PCP.
But general use indicates that it is indeed the same person.
However you slice the term, very vague, with very few specific's. Additionally, it states "SWIM went to school with some dude a while back and he wound up murdering some lady right in front of her kid over an argument his mom had with her over drug money." which is not an admission of guilt, it's a story about some he/she knew. It additionally doesn't state that this is not an unsolved murder.
The internet is global and you do get a wide variety of "story-tellers" and fabricators. We are not familiar with that site, or any prior/post conversation's with the individual. If you are familiar with the user and have further information than this very vague post, contact your local law enforcement agency and ask them what they recommend.

Just wanted to throw in the mix that there is a huge difference between an "admission" and a "confession."
This career is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
Thank you all for the replies:
I don't know anything about the person. I just read the post and found it unsettling. The internet is global and you do get a wide variety of "story-tellers" and fabricators.
