Certain pieces can be looked for after the first certain pieces are found.

You start at the beginning, first look at the obvious (which is usually right) and if that doesn't prove correct, then start looking at the less obvious.

The truth is like water and electricity, it follows the path of least resistance. The more you have to assume to prove a theory, the less likely it will be correct.
