Great responses! Thanks for the input. It sounds like the hit-and-run method is the best way to beat Trapster. They say distracted driving is at least as dangerous as drunk driving. I wonder what would happen if drivers started getting nailed for using their phones behind the wheel if they had the program running.
Just a side thought: I know texting and driving is really dangerous, but LEO’s sometimes have to run a search while driving. Is it an occupational hazard if you have to type someone’s tags into the computer while on the move? I know those automated plate scanners are somewhat prevalent in Suffolk County, NY and have probably already paid for themselves, but I don’t know how common they are. Are they worth the price and time it takes to set them up or will they be relegated to departments with bigger budgets?
