    Question Kicking your children out.

My boyfriend's father has kicked him out of the house three times now. The first time he wouldn't let him back for two weeks, the second time he let him back that night, & now the third time he cut his phone off, told him to pack his stuff & get out. Left him without a phone, a ride to work, any money or anywhere to go. His dad said he was getting papers for an emancipation. My boyfriend is 17 years old, and won't be 18 until September. Is it illegal for his father to kick him out onto the streets? Is there any charges against this?

Of course your boyfriend is the innocent victim in all this, right?

What was the dad's side of the situation when you asked the father about it?

And no, I'm not trying to be funny. Officers are information gatherers, and you cannot expect us to give you an informed answer to your question by only giving us your boyfriend's side of the story.

...And might I point out that this is yet another location relevant question?

    Anyone listening?

If you are in SC, your boyfriend, being 17, is an adult. Good thing he now has responsibility for himself.

I'd like to point out that he may require a second look re: to being anyone you might want to depend on or spend your life with.
