Unhappy application disqualification??please read I need to know

Hi, I'm 21 years old and I'm considering applying to become a police officer but there's something I did back when I was 19 that I think may disqualify me but I'm not sure. I dont have a criminal record, I have never used any drugs or distributed drugs. Good driving record and I'm working on fixing my credit score right now. ok back when I was 19, I participated in adult films, no I have never done any other thing like illegal prostitution. I was in a bad situation and needed money and so I was very stupid and let an ex-friend convinced me into doing that. I just want to know if this will disqualify me or not. I know I have to tell this when I'm interviewed and I have no problem with that, I'm not going to lie I know you get disqualified for lying. I just need to know if anyone knows about this and if i pass everything alright will I be disqualify for that act? Please be honest and I will appriciate any advice. Thank you.

    I honestly don't know.

You should realize that entry into LE requires fairly high moral requirements, so I would expect that if you were accepted it would be in some of the more "Progressive" areas of the Country.

well actually I lived in baltimore at the time and did that in california. I had just dropped out of college because of financial issues, no support from my mom and was working full time and I really wanted to get back to school. Lost my scholarship. I mean is not that Im a bad person that's basically the only bad thing I have done in my life.

Were I on your hiring panel, you should expect to be asked a series of VERY DIFFICULT questions concerning this event. Your answers to those questions would determine whether you proceed in the process.

While participation in adult films is not illegal, your effectiveness as an officer could be compromised should you be recognized for your "previous" work. Such recognition could also potentially bring discredit upon the agency with unfavorable media stories about you, etc.

The above is my personal opinion, and may or may not be similar to a departments actual hiring practices.

I worked with a girl that was a former stripper. Not quite the same, but similar in the moral choice category. There was an approximate 10 year gap between her working as a stripper and her coming a LEO.

Work on stacking good moral choices and it surely will help.

BTW Greg may want to know what the title of this movie was called.

My concern is that while being an adult in adult pornography is legal, the pornography industry is seeded in illegal drug use and other illegal activities (for a good illustration of the affects of meth, look at Chasey Lain 10 years ago and now). If you made one film, you may not have engaged in that sort of behavior, but the longer you're in that line of work, the more likely it is you did (sort of the same situation with rock stars and the environment of drug usage they have). If you were in the pornography industry for some time, it would be mighty hard for you to convince me that you did so while acting like an angel.

Just wait until someone you work with finds the video and plays it for your coworkers.

I had a woman that I worked with in the military that dabbled in some porn when she was younger- wouldn't you know the video showed up on day on the bigscreen during a squadron party.

Makes it a bit hard for people to take you seriously.
