Yes! Being a LEO requires one to be armed and having a declaration of mental issues on file precludes one from being authorized to CCW or possess a concealable firearm in most states. Mental stability is a requirement for becoming a LEO in all corners of the nation.

So you're asking if being held in a mental institution on a non-voluntary mental health hold for 72 hours will affect your ability to get hired by a police department?
