    Question Ride-alongs?

I currently work for a local security company. I applied for a ride along with a local dept. and was denied. I was told the reason was a citation I recieved over a year ago. The DA declined to prosecute because it involved an arguement with my ex who was previously arrested for assult on me. Even though they had pulled the officers report which explained the incident they still denied it. What can I do so I can be approved for a ride along? My goal is to become an LEO. I'm currently in school for my BS in criminal justice. What else can I do?

Nothing. You asked, you were denied, end of story.

You can't make them do it if they don't want to. You have no 'right' to a right along.

Send your request to a different agency.

Curt is right. Apply at another department. Don't try to force a ride along. It could back fire in your face. Be Safe.

I rode along with a different agency than I was hired with. You can do the same.

Thank you for the advice. The dept. is the one I want to get hired with so I thought I needed to do the ride along there. I will apply for ride alongs with other dept.s. Be safe out there.

If they denied your ride, they will deny your application for employment also I bet.

Don't sweat it. Simply try somewhere else. They may see some sort of conflict based on a report that we can't read, so we cant give you any reasons.

The Sgt. I spoke with said that if I get it expunged before I either reapply for a ride-along or employment that he doesn't think it will affect it. I'm currently in the process of expungement. I am applying at other dept. as well. Thanks for all your help and be safe.
