    Yielding

How should I move out of the way for emergency vehicles in this situation?

Intersection has 5 total lanes for north and sound bound traffic. 1 right turn lane, two straight lanes, and 2 left turn lanes. East bound and west bound traffic have 6 lanes total, two left turn lanes, 1 right turn lane, and 3 straight lanes. I am in the farthest left lane to make a left. A cop with lights and sirens pulls up behind me and I am the first car inline at the intersection. I can not pull to the right due to cars being directly next to me in that lane. There is a yellow lane divider separating the northbound and south bound lanes so the cop can't fit to my left with out going over the divider. I have a red light. Making a u-turn isn't always possible due to a almost constant flow of cars making a right either on red or green. I live in washington.

If you have a red light, I would recommend you stay put until you get a green light. Then you can eek forward and let him go around you.

Or you can look at him in your rear view mirror and put your hands up to signal "Whatdya want me to do?"
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

Let no man's ghost say my training failed him.

My back windows are tinted, at night you can't really see into my windows. This is a intersection where waiting for a green light can take about 3-4 minutes. Would it really be best to wait at that light with a cop right behind me? Their was another cop about a quarter mile behind me following the first cop to where ever they were going. If given the opportunity would it be illegal for me to run the light than pull over to the right?

if I'm behind someone and I have my lights & sirens activated, I want you to do whatever you have to do, safely, so that I can get through, be that move over, or go through a read light.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

I've run across this quite a few times and the driver's who please me the most were the ones who moved into the intersection, against the red light, as soon as they saw it was safe to do so and allowed me to proceed to the emergency.

If a cop wrote you a ticket for doing this, they would be a one-way ****bird.
