We (civilians) always receive the short end of the stick in most arguments, especially one concerning law enforcement officers. Politicians use police officers as an excuse to ban so called assault rifles saying it will protect them, do you ( officers ) think this is right? and why ?

They use any excuse they can think of. Don't blame us for what others do. Most cops are pro 2nd Amendment.
