LEO's for the Constitution
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

I would like to know how we can improve relations with ignorant posters in AAC who clearly have no concept of reality.

Note: During my career I was not out there to be liked, I was out there to do a job - enforce the law.
Sometimes I made friends, sometimes I made enemies.
I like to think that due to my efforts some family someplace was happy to see their loved one arrive home safely and enjoyed a great family meal together.
I like to think that throwing someone in jail for DUI, I was able to spare the hardship of loss to an innocent child in the world.
I like to think that my actions spared you untallied tax dollars and insurance costs.
If I am wrong, then I should have gone into the public relations field and made you my friend.
What I do know is I never lost a partner I did not care about, never lost a friend who was not loved and saved my family from the evils of mankind and the Devil's lot.
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence!
[George Washington (1732 - 1799)]
The people I pissed off when I was working weren't people that were doing much to contribute to society in the first place. The average citizen appreciated what we do. The ones that don't like us are the ones we prevent from doing anything they want to anyway.
I'm proud of the fact that I was able to work in positions where I did about as much FOR people as I did TO them. Sometimes it was only giving the victims or their families the satisfaction of knowing the bad guy was held accountable. But quite often, I was able to do more than that. Sometimes just being willing to listen helped victims and even witnesses. Other times I was able to refer them to services that could farther assist them. But even if you can't do anything to directly help, just acting like you give a shit means a lot to folks.

Politicians are public servants as well, but they engage in more corrupt actions and reprehensible, dishonorable and duplicitous behavior that any cop any where ever has, and yet nobody seems to care. How about people loose their outrage where it counts? How about holding politicians responsible for failing to maintain budgets which results in people losing their jobs and public schools loosing all funding? How about holding them accountable for lies and unfulfilled promises/obligations? How about holding parents responsible for failing to raise their own children, rather than hoping public schools and/or Playstation does it for them? How about holding liberal sociologists responsible for creating a false sense of adequacy that makes people ashamed to excel, and provides excuses for those who fail to try? How about people quit turning a blind eye and offering false answers to the real problems we have, then quit blaming the police for having to go out and fight the monsters they themselves have allowed to grow?
As far as a discussion of Policing and policing theories, I will not engage in that here. First, AAC is not the place for this type of discussion. Second, This is a website, not a classroom. You want an education in Criminal Justice, try a college. Finally, the presented attitude of the OP is that police have already failed, when the reality is that everyone else has failed, and you expect the police to pick up the pieces. That's not how it works.
I prefer the term government employee rather than public anything.
The people who usually whine the most about paying my salary are the ones who don't work nor pay taxes.
I've always found people like webster882 kind of amusing. I'm serious, people like him (or her) are almost always losers who are looking for someone to blame for their lousy life circumstances. It's so much easier to blame the cops, schools, etc. than to take responsibility.
Why does it seem like most AAC cop threads start off by saying some variation of the following
I just couldn't bring myself to include all the grammar/spelling/punctuation errors......I/my husband/my lover/my son got arrested for (insert crime here). The stupid-ass police sure fucked up on this one. What a bunch of jackasses, am I right? Barney Fife bullet-in-pocket wannabe hero douchebags. Huh? Does anyone here on REALPOLICE-DOT-MOTHERFUCKING-NET agree with me? Also, please provide a good enough excuse for me to rip off and use in court so that I can weasel out of my responsibility to clean up the mess the police have inconvenienced me with through their jack-booted thuggery.

Ex-con charged in 4 fatal shootings in 'Mayberry'
A soured love affair may have led an ex-convict to gun down four men in the town that inspired the idyllic community of Mayberry on the 1960s TV series "The Andy Griffith Show," police said Monday.
Marcos Chavez Gonzalez, 29, was charged with four counts of murder in the slayings late Sunday outside a television store in Mount Airy, about 100 miles north of Charlotte.
The four were shot with a high-powered assault rifle outside Wood's TV, in the shadow of a water tower that says "Welcome to Mount Airy" and has a picture of Griffith and Opie, his son on the show.
Police do not believe the shootings were random. Mount Airy Police Chief Dale Watson said officers are investigating several leads, including whether it was a contract killing or repercussions from a love affair gone bad.
"This is Mayberry ... Andy Griffith's house is in spitting distance here," said Michael Wood, one of the owners of Wood's TV.
The town, population 8,700, has built a tourist trade on nostalgia for the show that continues to thrive in syndication. ... more @ Ex-con charged in 4 fatal shootings in 'Mayberry' - News Radio 590 KLBJ - The AP Wire![]()
