Question Getting Information of ticket (Not a how to beat a ticket Qs)

    Hello,

I got a speeding ticket in Miami-Dade and wanted to get information on the measurements and time which were used to calculate my speed by the officer on the Airplane.

I called Customer Service and the lady gave me the number and extension for the Bureau of Investigations, I left a message but I'm not sure if that is the right number to call to obtain such information.

Does anyone know what would be the best approach or department to contact?

    Thanks

Plead not guilty and the officer will explain all that in court.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

It's a simple time/distance formula. They plot out 2 points visible from the air. They watch vehicles travel between the two points and time how many seconds takes to get from Point A to Point B. Basic algebra with speed and time gets an average speed that vehicle traveled between those two points.

If you've already called and left a message, you'll just have to wait until next week to see if they call you back.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

Thank you . I know how it works, but I just wanted to get the exact distance, time, altitude, and the last time the instruments were calibrated.

I did call but the name of the department just sounded like it was to complain and put an officer under investigation or something similar; which is not what I'm looking for.

Follow retdetsgt's advice then. There are no instruments to be calibrated.

Umm well I guess I'll wait for their call. There has to be a way for me to get that information. It can't be that such information cannot be access prior going to court, if I choose to go that route.

    Thanks

It's time and distance. All that information will be presented on the day you have your day in traffic court. Call the court itself if you want to.

So regardless of whether police equipment were calibrated or whatever defense you're trying to mount, were you speeding? If so, man up and quit trying to play the victim.

It is just information that should be accessible to me, IMO it is not a how to beat a ticket question. As it would be the evidence presented by the LEO in court, if I choose to go to court. I feel that I should be prepared too.

I'm not playing victim or said anything regarding whether the police officer was wrong or not. I just asked how could I obtain that information

I did not insult the police officer at any time, I didn't even treat the officer bad at all, I respected him the whole time. I don't see why would you assume such thing.

Give me a break, do you think we can't figure out where you're going with this? Plead not guilty, you'll get all the info at court...and someone will get some OT...win/win.

In NY you are presented with all evidence against you at trial, and that it is. There is no "discovery." Its not a criminal case.

I love watching highway cops testify, especially on speed. They go through their 5-10 minute testimony, and then the guilty verdict
    DONLON
I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

    Interesting Info
