Speed Limit?? Osceola County FL (Disney area)

I've never seen this before, On Griffen road going from highway 192 to World Drive there are new speed signs posted. The new signs have only a minimum speed limit of 40 MPH, There is no Maximum speed limit posted.

Now going on Griffen Road from World Drive to 192 there are speed limit signs with no min speed signs. The posted speed limit that way is 40 MPH.

So my question what is the Maximum speed limit when there is only a minimum speed limit posted? This is not a question in response to a ticket.

It was probably a mix up. Never heard of that before. Only time I've seen minimum speed limits is on the interstate. I wouldn't write a ticket off of it due to the conflicting signs.. But, I'd venture to say they were probably trying to put up 40mph signs.

I don't work in that area so I'm not sure exactly where that is, but I recall a LEO from Central Florida telling me that all the roadways on the Disney property are private, which means they wouldn't necessarily need to abide by the same DOT guidelines in posting traffic control devices. I still would side with cntryboy in thinking that's some sort of a mix-up.

Thanks for the response's I kind of thought it was something no one would site for unless really unreasonable speed. This road is about 100 FT south of disney property so it is a county road. The funny part to this is the signs were just changed with in the last month, still your not going to reasonably go much over 45 MPH on that road.

All the thru-roads in Disney are public roads maintained by Reedy Creek, the governmental arm of Disney.

To the OP - Are these roads on Disney property or off? You know you're on their property because the traffic signs have those purple poles.

Maybe they are in the process of putting up maximum speed signs and you drove down the road during their lunch break, lol. I'm sure the speed limit on those roads are set somewhere, either on signs or written into traffic law.

It is off Disney Property just south of there property. I doubt I cuaght them on there lunch break, The first and second time I saw this was roughly 10 to 11 at night. Last night I drove down the road and they changed the signs the other way to just a minimum speed limit sign as well.

Its not really a road you can go much faster then 40 on anyway or maybe I can't with my 4 cyl pickup truck but I was just curious about that.
