    A student seeking help

    Hi, all-
I am looking for law enforcement officers interested in participating in an online survey for a project designed to study the relationships among sleep behavior, nightmares, occupational stress, and social support. Participation will take approximately 30-35 minutes. After participating, you can be entered into a drawing for a $200 Visa gift card.
You can access the survey here:

I am a student in the PhD program of Clinical Psychology at CSPP, Los Angeles. I am studying to work with law enforcement officers and would greatly appreciate your help.
    Thank you for your time.
    -Morgan

Before I submit my name for the drawing, will I be forced to check "yes" to register for some "free" magazines, as a Diabetic, as afflicted with Arthritis, for a newsletter, for PAD, for an on-line Degree from some school no one has ever heard of, for information on Erectile Dysfunction, as a victim of Incest, for free product samples or to earn money for spending minutes of my time filling out Surveys?

^THAT'S^ what disrupted sleep behavior, nightmares, occupational stress, and a lack of social support has done to me.

The contact info is only required so that you can be entered into the drawing and notified if you have won. I have tried to make it as pain free as possible, and I promise you will not be harassed.

    Morgan,

Since you are asking for us to provide our real names, I think it's only fair that we ask for yours. The internet is an anonymous venue for communicating, so without knowing for sure you are who you say you are, you could be anyone. If you wouldn't mind giving your full name, as well as the website/contact number for your school's department (and perhaps a professor who is aware of your study that we could verify this through), it would help in the "trust factor" of members here giving out their names to you for a legitimate study.

All that info is listed at the survey site - prior to entering any information.

    Just FYI...
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

I didn't click on the link for the survey obviously, but I still think a more formal intro (with full name, what school you're with, and a professor that can vouch for the study) is appropriate in someone's post when they are trying to elicit personal information from others. Even if you had all your info written on a survey, you would also provide this info when talking to someone in person if you went door-to-door. It's just common courtesy, and gives a little legitimacy on the onset.

    Contact information

    Those are legitimate concerns.

My name is Morgan Kay and I am being supervised by Nicholas Noviello, PhD at Alliant International University, 1000 S Fremont Ave, Unit 5, Alhambra, CA 91803. The phone number for the study 818-430-7757 and I would be happy to discuss any concerns or answer any other questions. I mean that - just leave a message and I will call you back.

Also, Sgt. Slaughter and kels, thanks very much for your clarification and suggestion, respectively!
