Cocaine Info?

Hi,

I am a mystery/suspense author. I'm currently working on a novel where the main character falls on hard times and consequently gets involved with some people dealing cocaine. I'm hoping someone here can answer a few questions for me.

The main supplier is in Miami.
1. Approximately how much would a kilo of cocaine cost?
2. Would the dealer then typically break that down into ounces or grams to sell?
3. How much would the dealer sell the ounce/gram for on the street?
4. Where would the Miami supplier typically get his shipments from?

I realize that this is not "Ask a Drug Dealer". If there was such a forum, I would have gone there. However, I figured you are cops and cops deal with drug dealers and would likely know the answers.

As for looking for info to start my own "Dope Dealer Business", that's rather funny. If that were the case, I don't think an Ask A Cop forum would be my first choice of places to go for information. Furthermore, I certainly would not use my real name.

Years of blood sweat and tears? Oh please! What I asked would not require years of your blood, sweat, or tears. It wouldn't even require 5 minutes of your time if you knew the answer. If you had a friend who did, finding the answer may require 10 entire minutes of your time. If neither, a simple acknowledgement of that fact would have been more than enough.

Authors get information from sources all the time, as do journalists, without paying. I could understand if I was asking for in-depth consultation. But a few simple questions? If I had to pay someone for every question I asked, I'd need to be a billionare. As, I'm sure, you would as well. Unless, of course, you are so brilliant that you do not ask questions. Ever.

And, as I stated, I am currently self-published, just trying to break into the profession. I am not making a ton of money to offer for you dazzling brilliance.
