    Question Intern duties

    I am just curious as to what an intern does once he/she starts at a police department. I've heard some say all they did was office work. Have you guys personally dealt with any interns at your departments? If so, what kinds of things did they do?

    Office work is all they do at my dept.

    I was an intern before I took the training and I did both. Fortunately I was allowed to do some low level work (like writing tickets or small reports) :grin:

    They can go on ridealongs here, but it's not considered part of the internship. They do that on their own.

    We used to let them do more, but lawyers and liability put a stop to that.
