I know someone that has got raped in my personal deffinition. I'm going to becoming a cop within the next three years. Even though this happended 3 and 4 years ago on a 11-12 year old girl, now 14, will I beable to arrest him for doing it. She don't want me to do anything about it now, so no questions or telling please. Do it for her safety, I know her family is abusive. He brother did this to her. And I'm wanting to know if I can still do something when I'm a cop so I can arrest the peice of no good for nothing...

No. She needs to report it now. If your writing and spelling improved to the point you could pass the police test, you can't investigate cases where you are personally involved.

But again, even it was several years ago, she needs to report it to the police now.

Shes needs to call and report it so it can be investigated now. This isnt TV or a movie where one just becomes a cop for some personal vengance, great way to get a case thrown out.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk or anything, but rape has nothing to do with personal definition. Either the circumstances surrounding this incident meet your states criteria for rape or it does not.

That said, it's not up to you to play savior to this girl. She is the one that needs to do the reporting, make the statements and be strong enough to cooperate through the follow up that's required. You can be there for support but it's up to her to report it.

And again, not to be mean, but if you don't work on your spelling and grammer you won't have to worry about arresting anyone since your chances of being hired, with your current command of written english, leaves a lot to be desired.

You don't get involved in cases where you know those involved. It's a 100% way to guarantee that person is never convicted.

First: let me make a suggestion: Take a class in English - writing, composition, comrehension, etc. Your writing ability is atrocious.

Second: there may be more than one crime involved by criminal definition - rape, incest, assault with bodily harm, etc.

Third: Yes, you can make an arrest, if you become a police officer, based on the information you are privy to at this time; however, it would be neither prudent nor professional - it would be, as stated, revenge. And, such an arrest would, in all liklihood, be unsuccessful in a prosecutorial sense.

As a matter of fact, if you are so inclind, you can file a criminal complaint with the local District Attorney's office for the crime.

Fourth: Convince your friend that she needs to immediately address this issue and report it to the local law enforcement agency. Also, she needs to seek some assistance to cope with the personal issues she may suffer as a result of the sexual assault.
