    Railroad tracks

    Good Morning Officers,

I have a real fear of crossing over railroad tracks, and when I absolutely have to go over them, I wait back a little distance from the tracks until the car in front of me has gone over them, and has left enough room for me to cross over and get off to the other side.

Then I hit the gas and get over the tracks fast.
I was wondering if you would pull over someone doing that?
I once was on the track when it went off, and I almost passed out.

    Thank you!

If they smoked the tires going across, yes.

If the train was coming, no.

How do you feel about railroad crossings if you're walking instead of driving?

Maybe you should drive the train. Then the crossings would be fun.

Thats how I got my fear. When I was a stupid young teen, we walked on the tracks, and turned around and saw this train very close, and we jumped into the ditch. I was lying in mud looking at this train buzzing by, and I never forgot it. I dont walk anywhere near tracks and probably would not cross them on foot either.
Another time (to compound my fear) I was in the backseat of a car when an older friend was sitting on the tracks thinking it was fun to see the train coming at us. I was not amused and almost got out of the car, but then he moved.

I forgot to add, I wasnt going fast enough to burn rubber, so I guess I am pretty safe on not getting pulled over.

And, Thank you for your responses!

He was then and has since "grown up". I reminded him of this incident not long ago and he said it was a really stupid thing to do and apologized for it. But my fear is still there, and I expect it will always be.

I'd hold him to a cash settlement for mental anguish - with interest. Set an arbitrary and rediculously high number and negotiate from there.

If that doesn't work, do a Snidely Whiplash and tie him to the train tracks, then stand back and scream "Where's your Dudley Do-Right NOW!!!!"

If you have health insurance, you might seriously see a therapist for that. I'm sure that can be dealt with and overcome. If you're being honest about it, there's no sense in keeping that phobia.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Never even thought about that. I do have insurance and may try it. Thx!
