Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

When we first initiated CP, we were subjected to a number of "indoctrination" by the chief. In my last, he explained how the city was pumping so much money to implement it. I committed blasphemy by suggesting that if we put that kind of money in traditional policing, we would probably get even better results.... I was publicly declared a heretic and banished from any more "reeducation" sessions.....![]()

I've got no problem with policing the community as long as I can stay ruthless and judgemental, none of this touchy-feely caring nonsense for me.

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Didn't your mommy ever teach you that?
How does dispatch qualify you for community policing?
Your question sounds like a homework question, & yes I'm still thinking it's homeworkI don't know to many people who just sit around and wonder, "What are some problems with community policing? What do you think would help involve the community in our work"?

Seriously? You are in a forum full of cops and you want us to believe you have some personal interest in a criminologist's perspective of community policing?
Don't you think it's just a little odd that everyone has the same opinion about your question, as if maybe we have seen this same thing a few dozen times?
One Big Ass Mistake America
It does?
In that case, would you mind handling that barking dog complaint on your own while I'm investigating the burglary call... instead of reminding me for the umteenth time that the dog call is still hanging?
I'm sure the Communications sergeant would let you use his car.
Why dont you just ask the people at YOUR DEPARTMENT? I surely hope that you wouldnt be misrepresenting yourself as an employee of a police department when you arent.![]()

The material is out there, from initial community policing designs to '20 years later' analysis, to revisions to the theories, to brand new theories based upon lessons learned and areas for improvement. All of this info is in the public domain and academic. Hell, the info I passed is mostly books. Just imagine how many scholarly articles are out there as well. Find the info.
