I got a guy coming towards me from the front speeding and clearly observed a radar detector in the window as I passed him and turned around. After I contacted him, I noticed immediately that the detector was not on the window anymore, including the suction cup mount.
I completed the citation, gave him his copy and asked him what happened to the radar detector. He denied it was there! I told him I saw it as he passed and he finally shrugged and admitted to it.
Whats up with that?
To the original poster, yes, detectors get you cited. With me you have to be going a certain speed over the posted limit, detector or not.

I gotta jump on the wagon here and agree that for me the presence of a radar detector indicates a willful intent to speed and will result in the issuance of a citation.
I really like radar detectors. I use a laser 90% of the time. Radar detectors only build a false sense of security. Be Safe.

I could care less if they have a radar detector. Now, catching them with a scanner on our frequency will pique my curiosity enough to visit for a while.
