Need advice, kind of weird situation.

Seriously you need to leave this girl alone. Obviously your friend doesn't want to have any contact with you. I'm sure she has replaced her phone by now (I would go crazy without my phone in just a day, let alone 3 months)...if she wanted to contact you, she would have by now. Maybe she did tell her mom to tell you to stop contacting her, as she doesn't want any contact with you herself. Sometimes the truth hurts, but just leave the girl alone.

BTW harassment by phone, email, etc is aggravated harassment in NY, a penal law misdemeanor, so if you've been told to stop contact by someone with permission & authority to do so, and don't, that is aggravated harassment.

I've been thinking of that possibility even if it is out of no where. That's why I haven't done anything. That and my mother's police friend told me not to without telling me why. Its just odd that she'd stop updating both her websites, ex:facebook or twitter, for nearly four months now at the same time.

Maybe something like that was her thought process. Who knows. You can think what you want - that something more sinister is going on, that the mother has affected her, whatever. In the end, it's just none of your business why she has chosen to stop all contact with you (though she did respond once, so you know she's alive). It just is what it is. Accept that fact and move on with your life. It sounds like you're just dangerously hung up on this girl. If someone didn't contact or respond to me anymore, no matter how good of friends we were, I sure as hell would think okay, that's that, she'll call me or whatever if she ever feels like it again. If not, so be it.

In all seriousness, NYJ2918, if you genuinely believe that your friend is in trouble, a welfare check is the way to go. It'll be an uphill climb, though, because you haven't really articulated a basis for your concern here. I'm not saying that your concern is unwarranted. But there are simpler, non-criminal explanations for what's going on here, and I believe that you know what those explanations are.

But there are simpler, non-criminal explanations for what's going on here, and I believe that you know what those explanations are.

I'm thinking they wouldn't do a welfare check.. I'm only one person asking to see if a girl is ok and that alone turns into other assumptions of me. And all i could go on is I haven't heard from her for nearly 4 months at all and any attempt leads to threat calls from the mother and she hasn't update her web page, that she usually updates frequently, in the pass four months. Of course i thought of all the numerous non-criminal explanations.. So I'm hesitant because of that and people telling me that police wont do anything cause I'm just one person.

i went to the police and asked. They said nothing can be done because I'm not a relative... as expected.. there doesn't seem to be anything else i can do at this point..
