    Question Street Legal Requirements

I have a 49 cc pocket bike that runs 35 maximum. It has working brake lights, directionals, and headlights visible from 300 feet, horn, speedometer. How can i make it street legal to run in public streets in Illinois?

Be prepared for the fact that you may not be able to. The difference between what you describe and a Vespa scooter is that yours is tiny and sits very low to the ground, making it both more difficult to see and virtually ensuring that if you get into an accident, the striking vehicle will run you over instead of (maybe) knocking you clear like on a motorcycle or scooter.

Legal or not in IL (and I don't know because I'm in a different state) it's a bad idea to have that on the street.

As a bad idea to ride in traffic?

Let's see. 65 MPH top speed and sits 32" off the ground. If you need me to answer this, you are beyond my help.
