I know your not looking for my agency, but my dept would not hire you. You must have successfully completed any military obligations and have been honorably discharged (medical discharge exception). You did not successfully complete your military obligation therefore here you'd be DQ'd.

On a personal note even if they didn't have that requirement. The fact that you couldn't make Army bootcamp automatically speaks volumes not in your favor. I know that sounds harsh but it's just the facts. The first word that comes to my mind as will others is "weak". This IS NOT a job for weak minded people. You can say your not weak or that your over whatever, but when they are looking at numerous candidates, most with successful military backgrounds, and then there is this guy who couldn't complete Army basic, they have other higher qualified candidates.

You could have all the master degrees and doctorates, Police work requires strong mental capacity and ability to handle severe stress. You have proved and not that long ago mind you that you cannot. You can say you can all you want, but you have already auditioned for the gig and failed. LE applications and hiring processes are pretty unforgiving and they have to be. I know you won't like this but it's true. I'd start looking for another career, your chances are at the bottom of the pole. As for Federal you can forget that idea. Since you have a RE of 3 you will need to get waivers and letters of recommendations from good people and also probably a shrink. Then get back in the military and FINISH WHAT YOU START. when you get out from that enlistment you might have a chance, but if you never get back in and finish that, I'd say Mayberry might give you a shot but thats it.

Alright well I will say this it would have been nice if my recruiter had at least informed me about this before I joined. One thing that I didn't mention to you guys is that when I came home and I was wfinding about about how this could affect me a friend of mine was hearing thsi abuot if you get such and such you can never have a job and now he has totally dropped the idea of joining. I have never tried to convince him or anyone for that matter to NOT join but once my buddy heard this he decided to be on the side of caution.

The more you post, the less I think you should pursue a police career. You seriously didn't think about the implications of not completing basic training and being drummed out of the military?

You may be a great person, but your thought process just isn't in line with what I would expect from a police officer. I can't imagine that you would even fit in with the culture of police work much less be successful. And I don't expect you to understand why I'm saying that either......
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

    Advice Summed Up:

    1. Seek re-enlistment.
    2. If re-enlisted, finish training and obligation. Go to college after. Stay straight.
    3. If not re-enlisted, find another career. This one's not happening.
    4. If not willing to seek re-enlistment, again, find another career.

Your opportunity to gain a career in law enforcement entirely hinges on whether or not you can re-up and whether or not you successfully and honorably complete all training and service obligations. Absent that, forget it. Just that simple.

Ok thanks everyone I'm assuming that I've pretty much beaten this to death so I know I'm not a moderator but I think you'll all agree with me that this thread is closed.
