Hello all,
I'm new here, and I'm in need of some advice concerning hiring and my health records.
First off, I am 21 years old, have been studying criminal justice in college for 3 years now, and I recently transfered to a new school. I have worked very hard to get good grades and I know for sure that I want to work in Law Enforcement.
My question is this:
As it happens, I have recently become really deppressed for whatever the reason, and I was considering going to the on-campus psych center to see if they could pinpoint my problem, before the problem gets worse. I am normally a happy person. I have spoken to my close friends about this issue, but as I said, the on campus shrink may be the better option. What concerns me is that my record of seeing that person will show up when I go to get hired and then the people doing my background check will think I'm some psychotic nut because I went for help. And that is just not the case. I am a professional, dependable guy who can handle stressful situations...I'm just down is all. I realize you guys are not shrinks, but some of you may have some more knowledge about the background process and how it works. Am I being paranoid? Should I just ride this out and hope for the best? Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
