Hello,
Thank you in advance for your responses. I am a Restaurant and Bar owner here in the midwest and my business is suffering due to police and park rangers stopping what seems like all of my customers. Here is the scoop.
1. There is only one way in and one way out of the park where my establishment is located.
2. The rangers rarely patrol the parking lot except when we are busy on the weekends but mainly about and hour before close until the last car moves.
3. They sit in the parking lot and wait for people to get in their cars and pull them over for: no turning signal, rolling thru a stop sign, headlight out (when it's not) only to mention a few that I am aware of.
In my opinion, this type of action is almost like a roadblock and it is my understanding that there needs to be more than one way in or out of a location before this type of action can take place.
Question, Is this legal?
Let me end by stating that I do not support drunk driving! But stopping almost everyone at will has even stopped the patrons that were not breaking the law from coming back. It is my opinion that stopping my customers and giving tickets have increased the parks revenue a ton only to have my business suffer.
What are your thoughts? Can something be done about this?
Thank you again for your responses.
