Only if you're a Fed.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

Check with the local state's Peace Officer Standards and Training commission for an answer to your question.

As for just graduating the academy, no. but graduate and put between 2 and 5 years under your belt as a LEO and a few states open up yes. Montana i know is one where you only have to take a (very easy) exam if you have worked somewhere as a sworn LEO for more than 2 years.

Yea though I walk through the valley of no radio reception, with backup in excess of 40 miles away I shall fear no evil, for I am a warrior, for whom the ranchers have an affinity, and they can take the head off a gopher at 200 yards.
A lot depends on what states, there are a number of states that have state run academies, you must already be employed as a peace officer in order to attend, there are also a number of states that allow sworn officers from other states to take abrieviated "Reciprocity" academies. The key point is that you must be a sworn officer in one state in order to bypass the basic academy in another if they have a reciprocity program.
If you were to complete a privately run police academy here in Texas but not take the TCLEOSE certification exam, the academy would not apply if you tried to get on with a department in Kansas.
