Berkeley P.D. Testing Process

Does anyone here know about or been through the Berkeley PD Testing process. I just got back my test date and their process seems to be really fast. Written test January 31,they grade it right there and if you pass it you take the physical agility test the same day, and if you pass that, Interviews are on February 2. This sounds like a really intense testing process and they only test 2 times per year. Has anyone here taken their written test before, they said to bring a calculator too, so I guess there is math on it, I had never had a cop test with math on it before, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ahh - so wrong about Berkeley PD. It is one of the most progressive and educated PD's in the nation. The average cop on the beat has a bachelors and a great number have Masters degrees. In a fairly liberal city (most of the extreme liberals are nestled close to the campus), it has a fairly conservative PD. It is well run and enjoys high morale within its ranks as well as one of the highest pay packages in the State.

I doubt many cops on the department do drugs. Probably about the same as every other urban PD in the US.

You have to look out for the UCB Campus police most of the time. They are usually the ones starting the riots.

That would be perfect to get the job at Berkeley, I am only 22 graduate from college in May and their academy starts in july ( I heard there recruits go to Sacramento Police to train)

I am alson in the process at Berkeley PD. I am working on my Person History Statement. Any advise? How strict are they on past criminal activity???

Yeah im doing my personal history statement too. This thing is so big. we probably tested together. I wonder how many people whey will eventually will take and how the personal history statement is weighed. We should keep in touch you never know we might be going to the academy together in July.
