    Middle School Problems

Hey guys, i wanted to get your advice.

    Here's the situation:

My nephew is in 8th grade and decided to hang around a troublesome kid.

Just recently we found out that the troublesome kid had showed my nephew all the cool weapons (shotgun, pistols, rifles) that his dad has, and actually was able to hold them. So my brother decided to cut all communication with the troublesome kid, so his son doesn't follow in the same path.

Well, the trouble kid got angry and threatened to use his dad's weapons and kill my nephew, and actually threatened to commit suicide if they didnt become friends again. He calls frequently, and is just overly obsessed with my nephew, which makes me think he might have some medical issue.

Well this really freaked out the family, and they talked to the troublesome kids parents, to try resolving the problem, but the his parents really dont care.

So before school started, my brother made sure they weren't in the same class, but found out they would have the same lunch together. So my brother went to go see the principal to see if my nephew could go to a different lunch period, since there are 3 lunch periods. And since my nephew has friends in different lunch periods, it seemed to be possible.

The school councilor talked to both kids today and found that there was no treat, so the principal rejected his request.

Obviously the kid will denie everything because he knows that he is in trouble.

So the school is doing nothing about the treat to kill my nephew. And since the troublesome kid has open access to his dad weapons, and only see's him at school, i find this to be even a greater issue.

    So my question is:

Is this the right action of the principal? Am i just being to protective since this deals with family?

This sounds like a police problem, not a school problem. If the kid is making threats, contact the police.

Little boys like to egaggerate too. Keep your child away from the other one and your likely going to be fine.

The telephone calls can be consdered harassment if it's unwanted. Contact local police and they will tell you what they can and can't do.

Stop right there. How do you know that?
