    Blue lights

I am 15 years old and when i get my liscence my stepfather is giving me his cadalac. I plan to "trick it out" by making the inside look like a police vehicle. I plan to intall blue visor lights, a siren module and speaker, and a laptop stand. Is any of this illegal to have in your car?

    It depends on your state.

Legal or not though, it's a bad idea. Even if it's legal in your state to have the equipment installed, it is not legal to use it on a public roadway.

If you are driving down the street and one of your idiot friends turns it on, and even one person pulls over, you are guilty of impersonating a police officer. You get arrested, the car gets towed and impounded as evidence.

If you want the cool cop car, then go to the academy like everyone else did.

Why on Jupiter would you want to do that to a Cadillac? I see no logical (or illogical) reason for that.

Furthermore, if you can't spell the name of the car, you shouldn't be allowed to drive it.

And you want to put lights and a siren in it because???? You cannot under any circumstances light them up and/or sound the siren while driving, so what's the point?

Plain and simple answer: What you intend to do is totally unlawful, dude!!

It's illegal in any state in the union regardless if you use it or not. Find another way to keep yourself occupied like reading a book.

Buy spinners instead. If you want to go all out buy a cool hat with a feather in it.

As far as I know, you could have them, but could not use them on a public roadway. Around here, there are a lot of kids that have strobe lights of varying sorts. They all pull into Autozone and pop their hoods with the lights flashing.

Check your local laws. Even the City you live in may have an Ordinance against it.

A siren will most likely get you a noise complaint and possibly cause alarm, which would be an arrestable crime.

Buy something a girl will think is cool.
