Questions about lifting supplements...

I was talking with an old Army buddy of mine and the subject of supplements came up. He's still in the military, I just left. We were talking about the loads of different weightlifting supplements that we and others in our unit had taken over the years and while deployed. We are both planning on going into law enforcement and started wondering if any of this might be a problem. Neither of us have used "steroids" (by this I mean inject-able, illegal style) but have taken a few "anabolic stacks" and things of this nature. Some of which have now been made illegal or are "gray market."

My question is... What supplements, if any, do you use? And would something like this be an issue to an applicant?

The only thing you should be worried about is the legality of these supplements at the time of use.

I've done the pro-hormone stacks before, but not in years. I quit because of the financial investment. The stacks weren't so expensive per se, but the support supps and PCT were killer. And honestly, I never saw much benefit because I took pretty mild stacks. Now I'm just a creatine guy.

I work with a bunch of guys who are on the real deal steroids. They are some freakin' big dudes. They have been drug tested several times, but we dont test for anabolics, so it's a non-issue like that.

But to answer the first part of your question more directly, a PH stack will not affect your hiring.

Excellent. Thanks! I agree with the lack of results compared to the investment. But I continue to try certain things hoping they'll actually add up to their claims and hype.

Out of curiosity, and for the sake of conversation, does your agency know there are officers taking steriods? While I personally don't see an issue with it and can totally understand why someone in this line of work would justify their use, isn't it still an illegal substance?

I don't see how they can't know. When you have a guy who's 5'09, 230lbs and about 5% bodyfat, with 20" guns.....you gotta be suspicious. But if they guy doesnt say anything, or denies it, that's all there is to it, pretty much. Honestly, legal drug use - like alcohol - is a much bigger concern.

Switch is right. The last stack I did was a few years back, before the PH ban, and it was an SD clone. It was legally purchased at the time, so it's no different than having boughta protein mix .
