    Getting a head start

I'm currently awaiting word as to whether or not i'm going to the next academy(fletc) in October. The academy from my understanding is a little over 2 months(10 weeks) and will be going through the basic federal law enforcement program(UPTP). I was wondering if there were any books, websites or other knowledgeable sources with information regarding laws and terminology that i could study ahead of time to give me a jump start on the academic part of the academy. Thanks for your time, your input is much appreciated.

While it shows you have a stong motivation towards doing well by wanting to do research in advance, the truth is that FLETC academics (even the law portions) are not difficult. At FLETC, you will get plenty of time to study, in fact, probably more than you'll need to do well, and you'll be there for weeks (even months, depending on the training program) at a time, so take this time before going to relax and keep in shape. If you have a family, spend this time with them, as being away from them (especially if you're coming from another state for training) can be tough at times.

    Good luck.
