Ok here is my deal. I am from Nj. Tonight (08/22/09) a buddy and i were heading to seaside hieghts. We were goin down the main highay there Rt 37. From how it seemd a State trooper was driving down the highway without any lights on in the fast lane on the 6 lane (3 each side) pull up next to cars to see what people were doing while driving. My friend who is driving picks up his Ipod to change the song just as the trooper pulls up next to him. He turns all his flashies on pulls us over. My friend askes they trooper why he stopped us. The tropper asked him what he was just doin then my friend follows with changing the song on my ipod. The trooper followed wtih that isnt what your were doing. The trooper then asked if he had a cellphone and my friend said yes yes he does. The trooper asked him to open it and followed how did I know you had a slide phone. My frined drivers 1996 Chevy Cavalier. His ipod was in the slot right to him and his cellphone was almost a full arms reach for him to get to for it was under the radio in the junkie holder that those model cars had.

He gave my friend a ticket for useign his cellphone whiel driving(which he was doing). After the trooper turned his flashies off he pulled behind us a bit in the parking lot. We got back on rt 37 going to seaside. atless a minute later the trooper gets back on the road with no lights on but he would turn his white light on to on here and there. for 2 miles or more drove with no head lights on.

My question is is that even legal for the trooper or any law enforcement officer to do that at night on a busy highway or road? :confused: And also if it isnt legal would be friend beabel to get out of paying the fine and how ??

If it was unlegal he wouldn't do it!

No getting out of the ticket if the Trooper had his hat on though

Thanks everyone who answered my question seriously. I have noidea what cops can and cant do. I know for a fact not every cop out there is legit thats why i asked to see if everything is on the up and up what he was doing.

And i have to say that Guido video was a good laugh all it needed for 20 10 lbs tubs of hair gel then it would have been set.
