Don't Want A Racing Ticket

I am sorry in advance for spelling errors or bad grammar...

Well, it is a long story, and i am sorry for making you read it(i hate when it happens to me)

My boyfriend and myself were driving somewhere (he was following me in his car) when i missed the turn... i decided to make a u-turn and he made one right behind me... There were no cars coming so i went all the way around into the far left lane while he got into the middle lane (not a good turning radius for his car).

I saw a police officer parked on the side of the road and panicked -- for what i do not know, i just become paranoid when i see officers, like i am doing a million things wrong

i slowed down as my boyfriend was speeding up to catch up to me and in the whole mixup he passed me. The police officer pulled him over and charged him with racing with another car. This was not the case and i told him to just tell the truth at the court, but if they do not believe him, he will be found guilty of racing. i wanted to come forward to help him, since i was the other car, but i do not want to chance getting a ticket for racing as well.

What do i do?

Thank you very much. I do not know how i can help him, but truth is, we were not racing, but i feel so terrible for him because i feel it was my fault. :(

I just wanted to let you guys know that we finally had the second court date today. We went in with the truth and everything went well

His record is saved and we can finally put this misunderstanding behind us
