I always wondered if there was?

There's no question here. If you claim the title of the thread is a question, BIG would offer that it isn't, because you aren't specifying what information. Thus, there is no question here.

Oh yeah, I guess you have a point!

I was watching some show on TV that made me think about why do people become CI's?

Is there any benefit to becoming a CI?

I was going to join the LAPD when I was younger, but never did because I was worried about a family member that didn't have a green card years ago. I had passed my test and first interview and didn't go further because I was worried about this other person.

Well, I always regretted that and had wondered if my life had been a lot better if I followed thru with it.

But anyways, that was history. Sometimes things are just meant (or not meant) to be.

Instead I ended up getting in trouble, I met a lot of people because the area I live in has a lot of crime and stuff.

What if I wanted to help law enforcement?

In my opinion, I think ex-cons a lot of times, are in a position to do a lot of good (if they wanted).

To be honest though, sometimes I do not want to because I do feel like when I get pulled over and stuff, that I am being treated badly because of my past.

Once in a while though, I have met some pretty cool law enforcement... That says a lot for the person when they are cool when they don't have to be...

Thanks for the reply, but I am not on parole.

I used to be a while back.

Is it just not a good idea for me to even think like this? Since I have a history?

my first question would be why do you want to give information...
    Job Security...
    Ecclesiastes 8:11...
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

    Thanks for the reply...

and also, that is a good question that got me thinking..

I don't know why I had always had a feeling in the back of my mind that I would have liked to have done something good...

...does that even make sense? Probably not.

Maybe it is because I had used to want to be a police officer... I don't know..

You do ask a great question though..

Maybe part of it is when I met people in the past that are just evil... It gets you thinking things like, they belong in prison... But then, it sounds funny coming from an ex-con...

.... and if you really want to do, make a contact to your beat officer. If you have good info for him he will make a contact to the CID for you!

    Thanks.

I wouldn't do it for money though.

I have a pretty good job already.

Also, in regards to your response, what do law enforcement consider "good info" ?

Or I guess I should say, what types of info are really sought after?
